Man nabbed after doing runner from Police at Gold Coast airport
UPDATED @ 3.30PM: A man has been arrested after doing a runner from Police who were checking arriving passengers at Gold Coast airport.
The man had arrived on a flight from Sydney around midday and was screened along with other passengers.
But Police say he made a run for it shortly after, bolting towards the beach.
It’s understood the man had a return-to-prison warrant out for him.
The man’s runner sparked a major search around Billinga and Coolangatta with officers scouring the suburbs and cordoning off streets.
The 24-year-old was eventually arrested on the beachfront at Coolangatta just before 1pm.
