Police hunting man after woman bashed with hammer, stabbed repeatedly in horror attack

A young woman has been beaten with a hammer and stabbed multiple times in a horrific attack at a home in Norman Park overnight.

Police say her alleged attacker, believed to be a 30-year-old Singaporean national, hit the 20-year-old woman in the head with a hammer around 9.30pm.

He then stabbed her multiple times in the upper body area with a knife before running from the home.

He remains at large, with police appealing for help from the public to locate him.

The man is described as Asian in appearance with a slim build, and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt, and red and black boxer shorts with no footwear.

The woman was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment following the attack.
