Police incident causing delays for M1 traffic
Update @ 7.00am: Police have now closed the southbound lanes of the M1 through Oxenford after an earlier police incident.
It’s still unclear exactly what happened, though multiple crews have been on scene around that area since 6.20am.
It’s unknown when the area will be opened up to traffic again.

Earlier @ 6.30am: A police incident is causing dramas for those trying to get onto the M1 in Oxenford this morning.
Multiple crews were called to the scene near Exit 57 around 6.20am this morning.
Police are unable to say exactly what is happening, though they have confirmed that traffic will be delayed because of it.
Witnesses say there are a number of police cars blocking a lane for traffic trying to get onto the M1.
It’s unclear how long the operation will take.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area if possible.
