A man has died after being ejected from his vehicle in a horrifying head-on crash on the Pacific Highway in northern New South Wales overnight.
Police say a ute collided head-on with a B-double truck along the highway at Telegraph Point, near Pembroke Road, just before 7.30pm.
Emergency services were met with horror scenes, with police saying the male driver of the ute, whose age remains unknown, had been ejected from his vehicle upon impact with the truck.

He died at the scene.
The male truck driver, who was not physically injured in the crash, was conveyed to Port Macquarie Base Hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.
At this stage, police do not believe there were any passengers travelling in either vehicle.
A crime scene was established and the highway closed for several hours while investigators examined the site.
