Police investigating armed robbery at Bankstown

Bankstown police will continue investigations following a robbery at knife-point last Friday morning.

On the 11th of August, a 52-year-old woman walking through a park on Brancourt Avenue when she was approached from behind by a man.

Police said he demanded the woman’s purse which she handed over before running away.


The man was last seen fleeing through a pedestrian tunnel and onto Weigand Avenue.

Her purse was found quickly after the incident, but the contents had been stolen.

The woman reported the matter and detectives from Bankstown commenced an investigation.
