Police investigating attempted robbery at Gold Coast IGA

Investigations are underway after thieves tried and failed to get into an IGA on the northern Gold Coast this morning.

Police say that a break-in attempt was made at the grocery store along Finnegan Way at Coomera just before 3.00 am.

Thieves apparently tried to force the locks and ended up breaking them.

They were unsuccessful in actually getting into the business, therefore nothing was stolen.

Staff have had to wait out the front this morning while locks get changed.

Police are now investigating.
