Police investigating fiery ram raid attempt on Gold Coast skateboard business

A stolen car has burst into flames after it rammed into a Gold Coast business in the early hours of this morning.

Police report that the Mahindra Genio, which was taken from a Beenleigh home on September 5, was backed into an electric skateboard business on John Duncan Court at Varsity Lakes around 4.00 am.

It then caught fire and was completely destroyed, with the flames having to be extinguished by emergency services.

Luckily, bollards at the front of the business prevented the car from gaining entry to the store.

The person or people inside the car are then understood to have fled the scene.

Police are on the hunt and investigations are continuing.
