Police investigating fire at Parramatta

Police are looking into what caused a fire to destroy a cafe in Parramatta overnight.

Emergency services were called to the cafe on O’Connell Street just after 10pm last night, following reports of a fire.

On arrival officers located the cafe well alight.


NSW Fire & Rescue officers worked for some time to bring the blaze under control.

The cafe was not open at the time the fire started and no injuries were reported.

A crime scene has been established as a full investigation is now underway.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously near the cafe about 10pm (Monday 26 December 2016) to contact detectives at Parramatta Police Station (02) 9633 0799, or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
