WATCH: Masked pair smash their way into Coomera supermarket

Investigations are underway after a Gold Coast supermarket was broken into overnight.

There was also an attempted break and enter of a nearby servo around the same time.

Police say that around 1.30am, there was a break and enter attempt at a closed service station on Commercial Street in Upper Coomera.

However, the attempt to smash the front glass doors was unsuccessful, and the would-be thieves got away with nothing.

There was then a break in at the supermarket along Reserve Road a short time later, with a glass window smashed at the front of the store.

A quantity of cigarettes was stolen.

Detectives are now investigating links between the two offences, and haven’t specified whether they believed an individual or a group were involved.
