Police investigating hit and run of 14yo boy on the Gold Coast

Police are on the hunt for a driver over the hit and run of a teenage boy on the Gold Coast last night.

Around 6.00pm, patrol officers noticed a group of youths walking along Nerang-Broadbeach Road, in Nerang.

As they pulled up with emergency warning lights, the group ran off.


A short time later, one 14-year-old boy was found on a nearby median strip, after it appeared he was hit by a car and thrown from the road due to impact.

Though the vehicle involved failed to stop and left the scene.

Paramedics were called to the scene and transported the boy to the Gold Coast University Hospital for treatment.

Police are now calling on members of the public for information or dash cam footage from Nerang-Broadbeach Road between 5.45pm and 6.00pm to contact.

Investigations are continuing.
