Police investigating horror car flip in Gold Coast hinterland

Gold Coast police have confirmed they’re investigating a serious crash in the hinterland yesterday.

A car lost control and flipped along Nerang Murwillumbah Road and Pine Creek Road in Advancetown around 2.00 pm.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene, where one of the passengers had to be cut free from the vehicle.

A 75-year-old man suffered serious head injuries in the crash, while the 53-year-old male driver escaped with just minor injuries.

The elderly man was treated briefly at the scene by critical care paramedics before being rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital.

Both men are believed to be in stable conditions.

Investigations are continuing into the circumstances around the crash.
