Police investigating after ‘shots fired’ outside Gold Coast complex

LATEST @ 2.30 PM | Police have confirmed they’re investigating after shots were fired outside an apartment complex in Bundall overnight.

Officers were called to the complex on Waterford Court just before midnight after a number of concerned residents reported hearing gunshots during a disturbance.

A Queensland Police spokesperson told myGC that two motor vehicles, including a silver sedan and a white SUV, were reportedly seen leaving the street shortly after.


“Detectives are attempting to identify the occupants of the two vehicles involved and a male and female on foot in the area believed to have been involved in the dispute,” Qld police said.

No injuries have been reported from the incident at this stage.

However, police are also probing whether or not the incident is linked to a burnt-out white Toyota SUV that was located on Tarata Road at Guanaba around 3.00am.

Investigations into both incidents are continuing.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam vision from either location to come forward.

EARLIER @ 8.45 AM | Investigations are underway on the Gold Coast this morning after concerned residents woke to gunshot sounds in the middle of the night.

Police responded to the reports that shots were fired along Waterford Drive in Bundall just before midnight.

Residents reported hearing a bit of a dispute on the street, before at least two shot sounds went off as well.

There was then a bit of tyre screeching and a couple of cars were seen fleeing the area.

No injuries have been reported from the incident, but police have confirmed that they’re investigating.
