Police investigating Richmond topless photo scandal

POLICE are investigating after a photo of a topless woman wearing a Richmond Premiership medal around her neck was posted online.

It’s reported the image was distributed on social media by a Richmond star, without the woman’s consent.

“Yarra Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating an image distributed on social media,” Victoria police said in a statement.

“The image was posted without consent.

“As the investigation is ongoing it would be inappropriate to comment further”.

The photo was reportedly uploaded just hours after the Tigers Grand Final win.

Club president Peggy O’Neal commented on the image in question whilst appearing on ABC’s Q&A overnight.

“If it turns out that it is disrespectful to women, we certainly don’t stand for that,” she said.

“That’s not what our club’s about, and if someone has made a disrespectful and humiliating gesture, then of course it will be taken into account.”
