Police investigating suspicious fire at Gold Coast business

A crime scene has been established at a Burleigh Heads business after it went up in flames in the early hours of this morning.

Fire crews, paramedics and police were called to a wheel and tyre shop on Central Drive around 3.20am, following reports of a building fire.

Upon arrival, they found the blaze had been contained to the front of the shop.


Fire crews managed to extinguish the flames, however the store did sustain significant smoke damage.

A Queensland Police spokesperson told myGC they are treating the blaze as suspicious, with initial investigations suggesting the shop had been broken into.

Investigations are continuing.
