Police locked in stand-off with armed man in Brisbane
Police have declared an emergency situation in Brisbane’s southeast where they are locked in a tense stand-off with an armed man.
Officers were called to a house on Tyberry Street just after midday following reports of an armed man making threats.
The man reportedly barricaded himself inside the house when police arrived.
Police say they believe the man is alone at the address.
There are reports he may be armed with a gun.
An emergency situation was declared under the Public Safety Preservation Act just before 2pm.

The declaration covers the area bounded by Tyberry Street, Tollett Street, Old Cleveland Road and Tinchborne Street.
Specialist police are responding to the incident.
Police request members of the public to avoid the area if possible.
