Police looking for man who approached young girls in park

LISMORE locals are being asked to keep on the look out for a man acting strangely, after two girls were approached at a park.

Around midday on Saturday (12 September) the 15-year-old and her friend ,13, were seated at a picnic table in McKenzie Park when a man came up to them and asked some questions, before making some inappropriate comments.

Unsettled, the girls ran away from the man, before reporting the incident to one of their friends.

Police were contacted and officers from the Richmond Local Area Command are now making inquiries.

In particular, police are keen to speak to anyone who may have seen a man acting strangely in or near McKenzie Park earlier in the day.

The man is described as being of Aboriginal / Torres Strait Islander appearance, aged between 30 and 40 years old, around 180cm tall and of large build. He was unshaven, and wearing green shorts, a white t-shirt and a green baseball cap at the time of the incident.
