Police make shock discovery after raiding Ormeau home

A man and woman have been charged after police uncovered a large haul of drugs and guns during a raid on a northern Gold Coast home.

Officers executed a search warrant on the Senna Street property in Ormeau around 1.00pm on Wednesday.

During the search, they located a stolen vehicle, loaded semi-automatic shortened firearm, small loaded silver handgun and ammunition.


Around 200 grams of methylamphetamine, around 23 grams of cocaine, cannabis, heroin, a large amount of cash, pipes and electric scales were also found.

A 24-year-old Southport man and a 52-year-old Ormeau woman were arrested at the scene.

The man has been charged with two counts each of unlawful use of a motor vehicle, unlawfully possessing weapons and possessing tainted property.

He has also been slapped with one count each of possessing explosives, unlicensed driving, possessing utensils, possessing dangerous drugs and receiving tainted property.

While the woman has been charged with three counts of possessing dangerous drugs and two counts of possessing utensils.

The pair will face court next month.
