Police mobbed, pelted with rocks and bottles in Western Sydney

POLICE have been pelted with rocks and bottles by a drunken mob in Sydney’s west.

Officers attached to Mount Druitt Local Area Command were called to control a large crowd of people who were allegedly damaging property on Bulolo Drive in Whalan around 2am on Saturday.

As police arrived, their car was pelted with rocks and bottles by the rowdy group. Police called for reinforcements to help restore order and disperse the crowd.

A 20-year-old man and three teenage boys aged 15, 16 and 17, were arrested at the scene. They were later released pending further inquiries.

As investigations into the affray continue, police are urging anyone with information to contact Mt Druitt Local Area Command or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
