Police need help to ID body found floating in Sydney Harbour

Police are appealing for information after a woman was found floating in Sydney Harbour.

About 7am on Friday, emergency services were called to the south head of Sydney Harbour, amid reports a body was seen floating in the water.

Water Police recovered the body soon after.

She has not been formally identified and police are appealing for information that may help them find out who she is.

She is described as being aged in her 30s or 40s, with tan or olive skin, about 165cm tall, and with a medium build.

She has dark brown, shoulder-length hair which was tied in a ponytail and was wearing grey tracksuit pants and a pink top.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
