Armed man taken into custody after 10 hour siege at Wacol
UPDATE @ 9.00am: A man has finally been taken into custody following a lengthy siege at Wacol.
Police declared an emergency situation at 7.00am this morning, after an armed man locked himself inside a business on Grindle Road.
Officers had been negotiating with the man since 10.00pm last night.
He was finally taken into custody just before 8.30am.
EARLIER @ 5.15am: Police are trying to negotiate with an armed man who is holed up inside a Wacol business in Brisbane’s south west.
Officers rushed to the building on Grindle Road just before 10pm on Wednesday night after reports of a man making threats towards staff.
Negotiators are attempting to communicate with the man who they believe may be armed with a knife.
The business has been successfully evacuated and a cordon is currently in place in the area.
The public is being urged to avoid the area.
