Police offer cash reward after shots fired into Sydney home

A woman has escaped injury after multiple shots were fired into her home at Fairfield in the early hours of this morning.

Police say that at about 4.10am, a man emerged from a vehicle parked on the street and discharged several shots from a handgun towards the house.

The man then returned to the vehicle, described only as a light coloured utility, and drove away.

Police were called to the home and established a crime scene which was examined by forensic and ballistic experts.

They say it appears that two rounds have struck the front of the home, entering through a window into an empty bedroom and striking the wall beneath the window.

Miraculously, the female occupant of the home was not injured during the incident.

Police have searched the area locating several shell casings which will be further examined and have seized CCTV images from the premises.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to come forward with a reward of up to $1000 available for information which leads to an arrest.
