A POLICE officer is under investigation after he accidentally opened fire on a suburban Queensland street.
The incident took place at a remembrance service on Electra Street in Bundaberg at around 10am this morning.
In a statement released to media on Thursday afternoon, police said the officer was handling his service firearm when it accidentally discharged.

Fortunately, no one was injured when the gun went off. Police said the bullet lodged into the road.
The uniformed officer is attached to the Road Policing Command.
The Queensland Police Service is investigating all circumstance surrounding the incident.
