Police officer charged after being caught drink-driving
An off-duty police officer has been charged after he was caught drink-driving at the weekend.
About 12.45am on Sunday 4 June, officers stopped a vehicle at Cootamundra for a random breath test.
The driver was arrested after returning a positive result.
He was taken to Cootamundra Police Station, where a breath analysis returned an alleged reading of 0.083.
The senior constable, who is attached to a specialist command within the Western Region, was issued with a Field Court Attendance Notice for mid-range PCA, police said in a statement.
He is due to appear at the Cootamundra Local Court on Monday 3 July.
The officer’s licence was also suspended.
