Police officer charged with domestic violence offences

A POLICE officer attached to a specialist command in NSW has been charged with domestic violence offences.

The senior constable was served with Future Court Attendance Notices for common assault (domestic violence), as well as intimidation and using a carriage service to menace, harass, or offend.

It follows lengthy inquiries by Bankstown Police who have been investigating two incidents involving the officer.

The senior constable is accused of making a threatening phone call in September last year before becoming embroiled in an altercation with another man at Revesby two months later.

The serving officer was charged on Tuesday and is due to appear in Bankstown Local Court in May.
