Police officer slashed with broken glass by 17yo girl

A police officer has been injured after he responded to an alleged motor vehicle incident in Sydney’s west today.

About 9am Friday 16 October 2015, police received reports a car had been stolen by a female at Silverwater.

It’s believed the vehicle crashed into a number of cars on Victoria Road, Rydalmere.

Officers attached to Rosehill Local Area Command were called to Turner Street, Ermington where the car was found.

When approached by police, it’s alleged a 17-year-old girl refused to comply and struck a male officer with pieces of broken glass.

The Sergeant was taken to Westmead Hospital and received stitches to several cuts to his forearm. He has since been released.

A 17-year-old girl was arrested and taken to Parramatta Police Station where she is assisting police with their inquiries.
