Police pounce on Sydney stabbing suspects

POLICE have raided five homes and arrested five people, including two teenagers after a 16-year-old boy was slashed across the head and stabbed in the stomach in Sydney’s west.

Emergency services were called to reports of a brawl at a unit block on Guildford Road at Guildford just before 7.50pm on Saturday, 20 August.

On arrival, officers located a 16-year-old boy with a head laceration and a stab wound to his stomach.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital, where he has since undergone surgery.

Police said the 16-year-old boy remains in hospital today in a serious but stable condition.

Following investigations, detectives this morning executed simultaneous search warrants at fives homes in Sydney’s west and arrested three men aged 18 and 20, and two 17-year-old boys.

While searching the homes, officers allegedly found a stockpile of weapons, including a firearm.

The three men and two boys were taken to local police stations where they are this afternoon assisting investigators with their inquiries.
