Police probe random Central Coast shooting

POLICE are investigating what appears to have been a random, early morning shooting on the NSW Central Coast last week.

Officers said a newspaper delivery driver was driving a Suzuki 4WD along Donnison Street West in Gosford about 5.15am on Friday July 10 when he noticed two men standing near Moore Street.

The 51-year-old male driver heard a loud noise and believed one of the men had hit his vehicle with an object.

Uninjured, he continued driving and only reported the matter to police after noticing damage to the side of his vehicle a short time later.

The vehicle was forensically examined and police say the damage is believed to be consistent with a bullet hole.

Investigators are appealing for public assistance and are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or any suspicious activity that morning to come forward.
