Police raid nets man with computers full of child abuse material

A man has been arrested and charged after police allegedly found a collection of hard drives and computers filled with child abuse material during a raid on his home in Sydney.

Detectives executed a search warrant at the 30-year-old man’s Bourke Street home in Surry Hills yesterday afternoon.

During a search of the home, police allegedly located a number of USB and hard drives, as well as other computer devices that allegedly contained child abuse material.

Police will allege a blank prescription pad, medical drugs and equipment and a small amount of liquid and capsules, believed to be a prohibited drug, were also located.

The 30-year-old man was arrested at the house and taken to Surry Hills Police Station, where he was charged with possess child abuse material, possession of prohibited drugs and possession of the proceeds of crime.

He was refused bail to appear before Central Local Court today.
