Police release CCTV of Arundel arson attack
POLICE have released CCTV footage of an explosive arson attack on a Gold Coast home where a car was firebombed the blood from a decapitated cat used to leave a threatening message across the garage.
Just before 2.45am on Tuesday, police were called to the home in Arundel with reports of a vehicle on fire in the front driveway.
Officers arrived to find a car destroyed by fire and the corpse of a mutilated cat on the front door step of the home.
It had been decapitated and all four paws cut off, with its blood used to write a threatening message on the garage door of the home.
Footage captured on neighbouring security cameras shows two people loitering in the driveway of the home around 2.17am.
After sprawling their blood-painted message over the front garage door, one of the culprits then firebombs the car in the driveway.
The explosion so fierce, it tears through the front yard, possibly injuring the arsonist. (Explosion seen at 4minutes 59seconds)
