Police release identity of man wanted over alleged shooting of Big Brother contestant

Police have released the identity of a man they are hunting over the alleged shooting of Big Brother contestant Sam Wallace earlier this month.

Around 3:40pm on December 6, a car was stationary in the carpark of Mike’s Kitchen on Gooding Drive in Merrimac when a second car stopped in the carpark.

A man has got out of the second car and approached the other vehicle before firing several shots into the car. He then got back into the car and drove off.

Mr Wallace, 24, who was sitting in the passenger seat of the vehicle received non-life threatening leg injuries.

Anthony Soong, 23-years-old, is described as being Asian in appearance and around 170cm tall, with a medium build. He has short dark brown hair and a distinctive tattoo of Asian characters on his neck.

If anybody has any information which could lead to the whereabouts of Mr Soong, they should contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police urge community members to not approach this man, as it is believed that he could be armed.

Investigations are continuing.
