Police release image of vehicle wanted following frightening child approach
Police have released an image of a car as inquiries continue into the approach of a teenager at Nelson Bay last week.
The 15-year-old girl was at a bus stop on Donald Street about 7am on Tuesday 5 October 2015, when a 4WD stopped near her.
Police have been told the driver asked the girl for directions before attempting to entice her into the vehicle.
The man repeatedly made inappropriate comments to the girl before leaving the area.
Officers from Port Stephens Local Area Command were alerted and commenced inquiries.
As the investigation continues, police have released an image of a vehicle they believe may have been involved.
It’s described as being a white 4WD, similar to a Toyota Hilux. The driver is described as being aged in his 30s, of
Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, with a chubby build and dark hair.
Anyone with information that may assist in the investigation is urged to come forward.
