Police respond to reports of road rage incident

AS the temperature continues to rise across the Gold Coast, so do the tempers of those stuck in gridlock traffic.

Police have been called to a heated road rage incident at Southport as the mercury nears 40C in some parts of the city.

Early reports suggest two cars have pulled over near the intersection of Nerang and Wardoo Streets and the drivers have become engaged in a heated argument.

A Rapid Action Patrol unit has been requested to attend.

It comes as thousands of motorists try make their way towards the coast in a bid to escape the scorching heat.
