The thefts have prompted police to issue a warning, urging locals to be vigilant with their home and vehicle security.
“Unfortunately we continue to experience instances where vehicles and homes are left insecure and have also observed a focus on trade vehicle toolboxes,” police said in a statement.
Police say the brazen thieves have also been using bolt cutters to gain access to tradies’ tool boxes.
“Where possible trade vehicles should be parked within the boundary fences of properties or consideration given to bringing expensive tools inside homes if off-street parking is not an option.”
Police say they are working hard to locate those responsible. Anyone with information is urged to contact Policelink on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
