Police searching for owners of stolen blanket in connection to Gold Coast murder

Police have released an image of a blanket, as investigations into the shooting death of a Gold Coast woman continue.

Detectives are hoping to track down the blanket’s owners, who may be able to help with inquiries.

Officers were called to an address on Renfrew Drive in Highland Park around 8.30pm on Sunday night, we’re a woman had sustained a critical gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The 27-year-old was rushed to hospital, though sadly could not be saved.

A crime scene was set up at the address, before a 27-year-old man – believed to be the resident – returned to the property around 1.00am, when he was taken into custody.

Police say the man was wearing the blanket (pictured), and that it may have been stolen from a nearby residence.

Police are now appealing to anyone who believes they may be the owner of the blanket to come forward, as well as anyone else with information or footage from the area that night.
