Police seek driver of bus in fatal M1 crash

POLICE are appealing for the driver of a small bus involved in a crash that left one person dead and two others injured on the M1 to come forward.

Early information suggests a northbound sedan crashed into the rear of a stationary Toyota Coaster Bus (pictured) on the Pacific Motorway at Yatala around 8.45pm on Wednesday.

Police believe the bus was parked in the left hand lane of the motorway and unoccupied at the time of the collision.

The sedan then careened into a third vehicle, which was also travelling north.

The passenger of the sedan, a 25-year-old Salisbury man, died at the scene.

The driver of the sedan, a 21-year-old Logan man, and the person behind the wheel of the third vehicle, a 45-year-old Tanah Merah woman, were both transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are appealing for the driver and any occupants of the bus, along with anyone who may have noticed the bus parked on the side of the M1, to contact Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
