Police seek witnesses to serious two car crash in Sydney’s west

Detectives are calling on witnesses as they investigate the cause of a serious two car crash in Sydney’s west overnight.

Police say the crash happened at around 12.20am on the M7 motorway, just before the Sunnyholt Road off-ramp, at Kings Langley.

On arrival, officers found a Mitsubishi Pajero 4WD and a taxi had collided.

The taxi driver, a 62-year-old man, and his 42-year-old female passenger were trapped for a short time before being released.

Both were treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital.

Police said both the man and woman were in a stable condition.

Fortunately, a family of five travelling in the Mitsubishi escaped serious injury.

Police said a man, woman, two young children aged 9 and 7 and a newborn baby were all assessed by paramedics at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.

Specialist crash investigators attended the scene to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
