Police seek witnesses after teen struck and killed by two-tonne truck

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenage boy was killed when the motorcycle he was riding was struck by a two-tonne truck in Sydney’s south.

The accident happened along Port Hacking Road in Sylvania at around 5.40am on Friday.

Police said the motorcyclist, a male believed to be aged in his late teens, sustained extensive life-threatening injuries in the collision.


He was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to St George Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after arriving.

The driver of the truck, believed to be aged in his 50s, was taken to Sutherland Hospital for mandatory drug and alcohol testing.

Officers attached to Miranda Local Area Command are investigating the cause of the crash.
