Police seize 24,000 ecstasy tablets in Brisbane

THOUSANDS of ecstasy tablets have been seized following a major police operation in Brisbane.

In the last six months, police have seized 7.3kg of MDMA, or 24,000 tablets worth one million dollars.

Police said information and evidence obtained in a raid at Albion late last year led them to the drugs.

Detectives from the Major and Organised Crime Squad raided two properties in Newstead and Teneriffe on Tuesday as part of Operation Papa Rosewood.

A 32-year-old man and 25-year-old woman were arrested and each charged with drug trafficking.

The pair are due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
