Police shoot dog during arrest in Coomera
A dog has been mauled and another shot dead, during an arrest at a Coomera property.
Police German Shepherd Bravo, was seriously injured when attacked by a dog during an escalating scuffle, while they responded to reports of a domestic dispute at the property.
Officers attempted to subdue the cross-breed dog with capsicum spray, but were forced to use their weapon when that failed.
The ethical standards command will now investigate the incident, while the 31-year-old man is in custody.
Bravo was treated by a vet overnight.
