Police struggle to identify man who died on Gold Coast beach

POLICE are still trying to identify a man who died after being found unresponsive on a Gold Coast beach.

The man, believed to be in his 60s or 70s, was found unconscious at Main Beach on Wednesday night.

Police say the man was found lying on the beach wearing a ‘Do Not Resuscitate’ bracelet around 8.20pm.

The man was wearing Dunlop Volley running shoes, blue shorts and a watch with a brown leather strap.

Sadly, he was declared deceased a short time later.

Despite conducting extensive investigations, police have so far been unable to identify the man.

They released images overnight of the Do Not Resuscitate bracelet and watch the man was wearing with the hope someone may recognise the items. See them below.

The man is only described as being Caucasian in appearance and having a slim build.

Anyone who may recognise the items pictured or believes they might have information that could help police identify the man is urged to come forward and call Police Link on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Police say the man’s death is not being treated as suspicious.
