Police track down woman who escaped Gold Coast Hinterland prison

One of the women who escaped from a Gold Coast Hinterland jail has been tracked down in the Moreton Bay Region.

Officers at the Numinbah Valley correctional centre realised two women, aged 21 and 24, were missing after conducting a late night headcount on September 10.

At 2.20pm on Monday, the 21-year-old woman was found at a residence in Moorina and arrested by police.

The Holland Park woman has been charged with one count of escape lawful custody.

She is expected to appear at the Caboolture Magistrates Court today.
