Police are appealing for information from the public after a police vehicle and a taxi were hit by a projectile in Cronulla overnight.
At 10.55pm (Thursday 6 August 2015), a fully marked highway patrol sedan, with two police officers inside, was travelling about 30km/h west on the Kingsway from Gerrale Street when their vehicle was struck.
A projectile hit the rear nearside passenger window causing the glass to shatter.

A short time later, a driver taxi attended Cronulla Police Station to report at 10.50pm (Thursday 6 August 2015), the rear window of his taxi had been struck by a projectile as he drove west on the Kingsway, also near Gerrale Street. He had a woman passenger in the taxi at the time.
The rear window of the taxi shattered and was held in place by the window tinting.
No one was injured in either incident.
Police attended the location and an investigation commenced.
