Popular baby dummies recalled over strangulation fears

An urgent recall has been issued for a popular brand of dummies over fears they could pose a strangulation hazard.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission issued the recall of the popular BIBS dummies on Friday.

They say the dummies do not comply with the mandatory Australian Safety Standards.

“Warning notice instructions were not provided to consumers that dummies should be inspected for damage or weakness before use and that a cord or ribbon attached to a dummy may pose a strangulation hazard,” the recall notice says.

Anyone who has purchased a BIBS dummy is being urged to stop using the product immediately and to contact Chubby Gumz for a copy of the correct information via chubbygumz@gmail.com, or send a message to the eBay seller monyousse0 via eBay Message Centre.
