Popular baby teethers recalled from Kmart

Parents are being warned of a nationwide recall involving popular baby teethers sold at Kmart.

The Anko Elephant Silicone Teether has been pulled from sale at stores around the country over choking fears.

A recall notice posted on the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission website says “the teethers have white ear inserts that can separate from the main ear”.

“If the white ear insert detaches from the teether, it may become lodged in an infant’s throat and pose a choking or suffocation hazard.”

The teethers have been available for sale in store and online between 13 July and 24 July.

People are being urged to immediately cease using the product and return it to any Kmart store for a full refund.
