Popular candles recalled over serious fire and safety risks
A RANGE of popular candles have been recalled after it was found the wax could ignite, posing a serious fire risk.
Product Safety Australia said the recall affects Peter Alexander ‘Scented 400g Large Triple-Wick Candles’ in several fragrances – Coco Caramel, Persimmon Pop, Amber, Fresh Mint and Unicorn.
“The wax in the candle may ignite, causing a fire and safety hazard. The ignition of the wax may also lead to the glass container fracturing or shattering,” the PSA recall reads.
“The defect poses a risk of injury and creates a fire hazard.”
Customers are being urged to immediately stop using the candle and return the candle to their nearest Peter Alexander store for a full refund.
