It’s understood the decorations surrounding the candle holder could catch fire.
“Potential burns or fire causing property damage, serious injury or death could occur,” the recall notice reads.
The Christmas candle holders were sold in BIG W stores nationally and online from 14 September 2016 – 13 September 2017.
Anyone who has purchased the product is being urged to immediately stop using it and to return it to any BIG W store for a full refund.
No proof of purchase is required.
Meanwhile, a similar Christmas votive candle sold at Woolworths stores around the country from 1 October 2017 – 31 December 2017 has also been recalled for the same reason.
Customers are being told they can return the Inspire Xmas Glass Votive Candle to any Woolworths store for a full refund.
