Popular columnist Sam de Brito found dead in Sydney home

Fairfax columnist and author Sam de Brito has been found dead in his Sydney home.

46 year old De Brito was found at his Northern Bondi address this morning by his mother.

His family released a statement this morning saying,

“Sam, 46, has revelled in parenthood and was a wonderful and devoted father to his young daughter, Anoushka.”

His close relationship with his daughter was the subject matter of his last column, published in the Sun Herald and The Sunday Age yesterday.

De Brito’s writing career spanned for more than two decades, publishing five books and a weekly column titled All Men are Liars.

His death is not being treated as suspicious, nor a suicide, by police.

A coroner’s report will be issued on his death.
