Popular Gold Coast shopping centre closed following ‘break and enter’

UPDATE @ 11.30AM | TWO offenders are on the run, after a break and enter in Upper Coomera early this morning.

Police are investigating, after reports the Coles along Reserve Road was broken into before 4.00am.

A Queensland Police spokesperson says initial investigations indicate two offenders forced entry through the emergency exit doors of the store.

A short time later the offenders left the store with a box of unknown property.

Police investigations continue.

EARLIER @9.00AM | A popular shopping centre in Upper Coomera has been closed this morning, with reports investigations are underway.

Local cafe ‘Coffee Reserve’, along Reserve Road, posted to Facebook this morning, saying that the Coles shopping centre is closed due to a break and enter overnight.

“Coles is closed for a few hours due to a Break and Enter overnight. However we’re still serving beautiful coffee,” the post reads.

A photo has also been posted, with police tape strung up outside the Coles.

The cafe also reports that there’s a ‘carpark full of detectives’ on scene, and someone taking photos of the scene.

Queensland Police have confirmed they were called to the scene just before 4.00am due to reports of a break and enter.

Gee, must have been something special in the stolen box to have the whole store, with CCTV running 24/7 … shut down.
