A number of popular Harry Potter and Marvel pens sold at Typo stores around the country have been urgently recalled over choking fears.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission issued the recall of the Harry Potter ‘Lumos’ and Marvel ‘Avengers Assemble’ pens on Wednesday.
“The button battery compartment of the product may not be adequately secured and the batteries may be easily accessible,” the recall notice reads.

“If young children gain access to the button batteries and ingest them, they may suffer internal burn injuries, which can result in serious illness and even death.
“In addition, the batteries may pose a choking hazard to young children.”
The pens have been available for sale at Typo stores nationwide and online from November last year to September this year.
Anyone with the pens is being urged to “immediately cease using the product and return the product to any Typo store for a full refund”.
