Popular kids karaoke machines recalled over safety fears

A popular kids karaoke machine has been recalled just weeks out from Christmas.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission alerted parents to the recall of the Barbie Disco Ball Bluetooth Karaoke Machine and LOL Surprise Bluetooth Karaoke Machine in a notice on their website.

“There are incorrect plug pins on the AC adaptor, which do not meet the required electrical safety standards,” the ACCC said.

“There’s a risk of electric shock.”

The karaoke machines have been available for sale at Big W stores around the country between 1 June 2019 – 2 December 2019.

People are being urged to stop using the product immediately and unplug it from the wall socket outlet.
